“The holiday season is a stressful time as is and the pandemic only makes things more challenging,” Alejandre said. This was the foundation’s first year conducting this food distribution. The food, provided by Safeway, was purchased by the tribe through the foundation with Safeway donating the transportation of the goods, Alejandre said. “We’ve got fresh eggs, fresh chicken, we’ve got dry goods, canned goods, a little bit of everything,” Alejandre said.
